Season 1

Season 1:-”Everybody Hates Chris” is a comedy series based on the life of the well known actor and comedian Chris Rock. The season 1 of the series premiered on 22^nd September 2005 on UPN network. Later CW brought the telecast rights for the series. The first season consisted of 22 episodes. The season started with the Rock family shifting residence to Bedstuy, Brooklyn in spite of their budget being tight. Chris goes to a school where he is the only black guy and as such is tormented by the school bully Joey Caruso. Chris wants to impress Kiesha who is their neighbor and teaches math to Drew. At school, Chris joins the basketball team. Julius finds a new tenant, who pays six months rent in advance. Meanwhile, at school Chris is punished for beating Joey. One of the kids in the neighborhood steals Chris’s bike. Julius engages himself in house work due to strike at work. At Halloween, a girl invites Chris for a costume party but Joey ruins his dress to take revenge. Later, he is forced to baby-sit for Drew and Tonya as Julius and Rochelle go out for a date. Julius and Rochelle go to buy a new TV while Chris is to take the fighting siblings to the laundry. At school Chris and Greg argue over a science project. Meanwhile, Rochelle feels ashamed of using the food stamps that Julius gets and uses the money from family savings. Chris goes to Greg’s place to avoid Tonya. However, Greg cannot have friends at home, so Chris hides in a closet.

On Christmas, Chris does not get any present due to fund shortage. Chris starts working part time with his father to earn the money to buy a leather jacket. For the Picture Day at school, Chris wears an ordinary dress as his best dress is stolen. On Valentine’s Day, Tonya and Drew get many admirers while Chris has crush on a girl who takes the bus with him. Chris tries to get himself expelled because he is daily beaten at school. Chris fails in math and lies to his parents about it. Next he tries to outdo his brother, by taking karate lessons. Tonya learns that it is fun to gossip. Chris finds his fathers copy of Playboy and takes it to school where Joey steals it. Tonya and Drew are down with chickenpox and Julius looks after them. Meanwhile, Chris sells cookies to collect the money for the school trip. In the last episode of the season, Chris is looking for an ideal gift for Julius on father’s day. However, Julius wants to spend the day alone.

Seasons Top Ranked Episode - Everybody Hates Corleone

This was the season’s 18^th episode and was aired in 13^th April 2006. In this episode, Chris is fed up of being beaten everyday at school. He requests Julius and Rochelle to change his school, but they do not agree. He then tries to get himself expelled from the school. Meanwhile, lands with a job in the fish market where he is able to earn more money. However his family is not happy with his new job, because his body stinks with fish smell.
